Built during the late 15th century, early 16th, on a 13th century base, the medieval castle of Bonaguil has its enormous architecture standing on three rock foundations. Listed "Major site of Aquitaine", Bonaguil is an absolute model of fortified castle, built for fire artillery. You can have a guided tour all year, to know more about this castle's history. And during summer, the castle proposes nocturnal tours and medieval working groups.
Next to the castle of Bonaguil, the landscape reading 2km path helps you to discover the heritage in a different way, thanks to 7 boards: specific wood's essence, former iron ore quarry, interesting outlooks...
- March and October: 2-5.30pm
- April, May, June, September : open from 10am to 5.30pm.
-July and August : open from 10am to 7pm.
From November to February :
- only during Christmas and February school holiday : from 2 to 5 pm. There are no guided visits during the winter. Closed December 25th and January 1st.
Last entry 45min before the closure.
Free for children under 6 year-old.
From 6 to 12: 5 euros.
From 13 year-old: 9.50 euros
Groups (20 people minimum): 7.50 euros/person
School groups (1 free adult for 10 children): 3.50 euros/child
You can visit freely, you can have a document to guide you (translated in 7 languages). The guided tours last approximately 1h30. In July and August, Dutch-speaking guided tours are proposed. You can enter until half an hour before the closing time. Groups are welcome from March to November, on booking.
